The battery charger / maintainer ProBatM by STERLING keeps an extra battery 'topped up' from the main battery which has the charging device(s) connected to it (e.g. alternator, battery charger, solar cell/wind turbine etc.).
The battery maintainer ProBatM works by detecting when the main battery bank reaches 13.3V / 26V and allows the excess current to be transformed to the extra battery bank with only a minor voltage drop of 0.2V.
This allows the extra battery bank to be 'maintained' by charging it with several amps (max. 3A).
Ideal installation:
starter battery 12V/24V to domestic 12V/24V
starter 12V/24V to bow thruster 12V/24V
This device is not a high charging device, it's a maintenance device. For higher charging battery to battery appliances you will need a special battery to battery (B2B) charger like the ProBattC or ProBatt IP68.
