Carsten Jensen (born 1952) grew up in Marstal on the Danish island of Æro. He studied literature in Copenhagen and has worked as a journalist and critic ever since. He is regarded as one of Denmark's most distinguished essayists. He began his literary work in the mid-nineties. With "We Drowned" ("V, de druknede"), his third novel, he became an international bestseller. Carsten Jensen was honoured with the Olof Palme Prize in 2009.

Wilfried Erdmann (1940-2023), Germany's best-known cruising sailor, died on 8 May 2023.The single-handed sailor and non-fiction author inspired the sailing world with his adventures and books and popularised the sport of sailing in Germany. The filmmaker Tom Nitsch provides a kind of "logbook" full of moments, sequences and encounters from his films from "LA NIOULARGUE" to "TRACKS OF BORKUMRIFF IV".The result is a contemporary document of the period from the renaissance of classic yachts to the construction of the first superyachts at the end of the 20th century. Nitsch's photos and stills taken from his films visually express the beauty of the yachts in combination with light, wind and waves.In terms of content, the focus is not only on the respective film but also on the associated themes and thoughts of the sailors.
