WEST-SYSTEM universal resin (type 105) is used as the base material for all applications. This is a slightly amber-colored, low-viscosity, liquid epoxy resin that is mixed with various hardeners. In the majority of cases, hardener type 205 is used for fast curing (pot life 10-15 min. at 25 °C). For large-area work, the slow hardener type 206 (pot life 20-30 min. at 25 °C) is recommended. For further product information, please download the detailed processing instructions under "Downloads & Information". Complete containers with resin and hardener as well as individual components are available. When using the product for the first time, it is essential to order the appropriate dosing pumps, as epoxy work requires a high degree of mixing accuracy. The mixing ratio by volume for the standard hardeners (type 205 and 206) is 5:1.
The resin type 105 is a clear, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with West System hardeners, it can be cured in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance. A superb adhesive, WEST SYSTEM epoxy will fill gaps and bridge voids when modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and can be sanded afterwards. With roller applications, it has excellent thin-film characteristics to flow out and self-level without "fisheyeing." Multiple coats create a superior moisture barrier and a tough, stable base for paints and varnishes. The resin is formulated without volatile solvents and does not shrink after curing. It has a relatively high flash point and no strong solvent odor, making it safer to work with than polyester or vinylester resins. For each container size of resin, there is a corresponding sized container of hardener and mini pump size. When purchasing resin, hardener and mini pumps ensure thal all items are labelled with the same pack size (A, B,C).

Special hardener for use with WEST-SYSTEM universal resin type 105 (reformulated). The WEST coating hardener (type 207) was specially developed to achieve particularly clear and moisture-resistant surfaces on natural wood (20-30 min. pot life at 25 °C).By using the special hardener 207, the epoxy mixture tends to become less cloudy in a damp environment and prevents the formation of amine red, which simplifies the reworking of coated surfaces. Attention: Mixing ratio resin/hardener 3:1 by volume. Please only use the appropriate pumps! Detailed processing instructions under "Downloads & Information".
