Similar to the design of American yacht blocks. However, the axles are not bolted together, rather they are covered with small bronze plates. The sheaves made from aluminum bronze run on bronze bearings. The visible surface of the sheave is also bronze.
The housing is copper-rivited and varnished to a high gloss.
