Attached pin. Particularly well suited as halyard shackles.
European brand-name product, made from stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI316L).
Forged shackles follow the molecular structure lines of force, differing from, for example, cast shackles, so that it is possible to set the same strength for every forged part!
For application in areas where safety is critical, the use of forged articles is highly recommended.
As is true of all forged stainless steel pieces, they will not break suddenly, but will deform first. This is an important safety feature because it allows easy detection of overloading.
To be on the safe side, only use stainless steel shackles at 1/4 of the given breaking load (BRL).
Only use shackles with a given safe working load (SWL) for lifting heavy loads.
