The HAMMAR H20E hydrostatic release unit (HRU) releases the floatfree EPIRB when the ship sinks.

A spring activated knife cuts the release rod at a water depth of 1.5 to 4 meters, allowing the EPIRB to float free.

Expiry date: 2 years after installation (must be marked in the field when being installed on board).

Comes complete with releasae rod (must always be replaced together with the HRU!), nut and two plastic washers.

SOLAS / IMO approved (wheelmark), SOLAS 74/96 Convention, Reg. III/4 LSA Code, MO Res. MSC. 48/(66), IMO Res. MSC. 81(70), approved to EU Directive 96/98 EC.
