The life of the crew can depend on the safe functioning of the lifejacket.
For this reason, theFSR has clearly defined the quality and service standards for lifejackets:
The service life of an inflatable lifejacket is generally limited to ten years, provided it is serviced by a specialist service every two years.
Thereafter, the service life of properly serviced lifejackets can be extended to a maximum of 14 years if they are serviced annually. We offer this service (article no. 3273-100) exclusively for automatic vests from the manufacturers SECUMAR and KADEMATIC .
A one-year inspection interval is prescribed for MED-approved lifejackets (SOLAS).
Older life jackets are no longer serviced!
We also cannot service lifejackets that do not have a production date marked on them!
The date of the next inspection can be found on the service sticker (month and year).
We are an authorized specialist dealer and pass on the lifejackets for certified servicing.
The scope of maintenance includes
- 16-hour leak test of the inflated buoyancy chamber
- Functional check of the automatic system
- Function test of the manual release
- Function test of the mouth valve
- Replacement of the release tablet and seals
- Checking the seams and fittings
- Checking the CO2 cartridge
If necessary, repairs and replacement of service parts are carried out at extra cost.
Processing time approx. 14 days.
You can bring your vest to our store or send it to us as a prepaid consignment. If you order maintenance here in the online store, a printout of the order confirmation must be enclosed with the lifejacket. You will receive this by e-mail.
