Viking Grab Bag with additional emergency equipment for the liferaft.

This extends the Emergency Pack 2 (<24 hours - expected rescue within 24 hours) to Emergency Pack 1 (>24 hours - expected rescue after more than 24 hours).

The VIKING life raft RescYou OCEAN and RescYou PRO is equipped with the emergency equipment of Emergency Pack 2 in accordance with ISO 9650-1 (offshore life rafts) as standard.

Especially before long, demanding passages, it makes sense to supplement the emergency equipment to the extent of Emergency Pack 1. Emergency Pack 1 equipment is mandatory for participation in events such as the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC).

The grab bag is stowed on board in an easily and quickly accessible place near the life raft so that it is not forgotten in an emergency.

The waterproof, signal orange grab bag contains the following items of equipment.

  • 3x SOLAS-approved red handflares
  • 1x SOLAS-approved flashlight
  • 1x spare batteries and bulb for SOLAS flashlight
  • 1x SOLAS approved first aid kit
  • 2x SOLAS approved thermal protective aid (TPA)
  • 1x 200 ml sunscreen
  • 2x 0.5 l of drinking water in bags per person (SOLAS). So a total of 4 litres in the 4-person grab bag. 6 or 8 litres in the Grab Bags for 6 or 8 people
  • 0.5 kg of emergency ration (10,000 kJ) per person (SOLAS). This means a total of 2 kilograms in the 4-person Grab Bag. 3 or 4 kg in the Grab Bags for 6 or 8 people
