It therefore complies with the Offshore Special Regulations (OSR), the equipment regulations of WORLD SAILING (formerly ISAF) for seagoing racing yachts. The table also shows the radar cross section (RCS).
In this tried-and-tested radar reflector, encapsulated aluminium angled mirrors are each mounted rotated by 45° in a semi-transparent plastic tube to ensure good all-round reflection. The very slim and space-saving radar reflector is specially designed for use on yachts.Advantages of the tubular designlightweighteasy to installlittle wind resistanceno wind noiseno snagging of ropesTwo versions (each in two sizes) are available:Type S (sailing boat)Equipped on both sides with eyelets for preheating or for attaching to the shroud.Type M (motor boat)Fitted on one side with a mounting plate for screwing to the deck. If required, the tube reflector can be folded relatively flat on deck. Please refer to the table below for dimensions and effective reflective area (RCS, Radar Cross Section).
The EM230 MIDI radar reflector from the British manufacturer ECHOMAX impresses with its outstanding reflection values. As it is less long than the EM230 MAXI model, it is particularly interesting for (smaller) yachts for which there is no equipment requirement. The housing is made of strong, white PE plastic. The metal-framed fastening eyes (D = 8 mm) can be used for screwing on or for preheating, e.g. with a flag line. The internal triple reflector made of aluminium, arranged three above each other, ensures optimum all-round reflection with a radar cross-sectional area (RCS) of 20 m².The EM230 MIDI radar reflector is suitable for preheating or fixed mounting. The stainless steel mast bracket and the stainless steel deck bracket, e.g. for mounting the reflector on the roof of the wheelhouse, are available as optional accessories. You will find both further down on this page under "Accessories".
MED/SOLAS approval. The EM230BR radar reflector from the British manufacturer ECHOMAX impresses with its outstanding reflection values. The largest model in the passive ECHOMAX radar reflector range is ideal for yachts over nine metres in length and for ships for which there is a equipment requirement. The housing is made of strong, white PE plastic. The metal-framed mounting eyes (D = 8 mm) can be used for screwing on or for preheating, e.g. with a flag line. Weight: 2,3 kg.The internal triple reflector made of aluminium, arranged three above one another, ensures optimum all-round reflection with a radar cross-sectional area (RCS) of 24 m².This reflector is even used by the British Navy for its lifeboats. It also fulfils the Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) of World Sailing for ocean racing. The EM230BR radar reflector is suitable for preheating or fixed mounting. The stainless steel mast bracket and the stainless steel deck bracket, e.g. for mounting the reflector on the roof of the wheelhouse, are available as optional accessories. You will find both further down on this page under "Accessories".
The EM180 radar reflector from the British manufacturer ECHOMAX impresses with its outstanding reflection values. As its diameter is smaller than that of the EM230 model, it is particularly interesting for (smaller) yachts. The housing is made of strong, white PE plastic. The metal-framed mounting eyes (D = 8 mm) can be used for screwing on or for preheating, e.g. with a flag line. The internal triple reflector made of aluminium, arranged three above each other, ensures optimum all-round reflection with a radar cross-sectional area (RCS) of 8 m².The EM180 radar reflector is suitable for preheating or fixed mounting. The stainless steel mast bracket and the stainless steel deck bracket, e.g. for mounting the reflector on the roof of the wheelhouse, are available as optional accessories.
The space-saving, inflatable radar reflector EM230i (INFLATABLE) is ideal if the reflector is only to be used when necessary (at night, in unstable weather, in an emergency) but is part of the ship's mandatory equipment (e.g. for sea races). The reflective surface made of metallised DuPont fabric is enclosed in a tear-resistant, semi-transparent PVC cover. This has strong fixing eyes at the top, bottom and sides. The Radar Cross Sheet (RCS) is 25.6 square metres! This more than doubles the 10 square metres required for seagoing regatta yachts. The scope of delivery includes a certified QinetiQ linear diagram in case the regatta organisers want to have the RCS confirmed. This ensures that the equipment requirements of the Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) of World Sailing (formerly ISAF) or the WCC, ORC and RORC are met. When folded, the EM230i is only pocket-sized (approx. 20 x 10 x 10 cm, weight 420 g) and therefore fits easily into a grab bag for taking into the lifeboat or life raft.A 1.60 metre long, three piece glass fibre rod kit (diameter 10 mm) is available as an accessory (Article-No. 3050-018) for use there. Weight 250 g.This is inserted into two plastic eyelets glued to the reflector. The higher mounting position significantly increases the probability of being seen on a ship's radar.
The round triple mirror reflector from the British manufacturer ECHOMAX consists of aluminum sheets that are plugged together. When disassembled, the reflector has a small pack size. The radar reflector meets the requirements for seagoing regatta yachts in accordance with the World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations (OSR). It offers a large radar cross-sectional area (RCS = 5.5 m²) with a small diameter. It is suitable for preheating or fixed mounting. A plastic bracket is available as an optional accessory for fixed mounting. The reflector is inserted into the bracket and secured with two threaded screws. The bracket can be screwed onto any standard antenna base with a 1" 14 TPI thread (see "Accessories"), which is then mounted on the spreader of a sailing yacht or on the deckhouse of a motor yacht, for example.
The ECHOMAX ACTIVE X and ACTIVE XS active radar reflector significantly increases the safety of small vessels through improved radar visibility.Radar signals from other ships in the 9 GHz X-band (or 2.9-3.1 GHz S-band) are received, amplified by the electronics and actively transmitted back. Small ships are thus recognised at a distance of around eight nautical miles instead of one to two nautical miles. This significantly reduces the risk of collision. An acoustic warning signal (can be switched off, external alarm up to 8 A can be connected) also indicates active radar units in the vicinity and thus also warns of approaching situations on the high seas. The slim reflector antenna is very suitable for mast mounting due to its low weight and low wind resistance.Supplied with 24 m cable and standard control box (dimensions: 92 x 38 x 51 mm) with switches and LED operating indicators. For 12 volt voltage. Two versions are available:ACTIVE XReceives and transmits signals on 9 GHz X-band.Power consumption < 15 mA (stand-by), approx. 32 mA (active operation with ten radar signals within range). ACTIVE XSReceives and transmits signals on 9 GHz X-band and 2.9-3.1 GHz S-band.Power consumption < 23 mA (stand-by), approx. 190 mA (X-band) and 155 mA (S-band) in active mode with ten radar signals within range.A waterproof control unit is optionally available (surface-mounted model).Any standard antenna base or a pole mount with a 1" x 14 TPI thread can be used to mount the antenna. Both can be found further down on this page under "Accessories".
