The relay (24 VDC 65A) can be added between the push button and the compressor without tank when a signalling air horn is connected.

When the compressor is activated by the push button, only a low control current flows between the pushbutton and the relay. The contacts in the pushbutton are therefore not unnecessarily stressed by the higher current. This extends the service life of the pushbutton.
