VHF handheld radio with DSC, ATIS and built-in GPS receiver. It has illuminated function keys and user-friendly rotary knobs for easy operation. It also has three-channel monitoring and repeat missed calls.
Mobile phone calls can be received on or made from the handheld radio via Bluetooth.
The transmission power can be selected between 1, 3 and 6 watts.
Waterproof (IPX8) and floatable. The orange-coloured back of the housing makes it easier to find the radio if it has fallen overboard.
A torch and an emergency strobe light are integrated in the device.
Measurements:
- H x W x D: 131 x 72 x 47 mm
- Weight: 329 g
The scope of delivery includes:
- Lithium-ion battery
- Charging station with 12 V and 230 V charging cable
- Adapter for use with AAA batteries
- NMEA cable
- Wrist strap and belt clip
Anyone who has an ATIS number for inland radio may store it in their handheld radio. In countries such as the Netherlands or Belgium, handheld radios may also be used without restrictions in inland areas.
In Germany (or France), on the other hand, it is prohibited to use handheld radios in a traffic area other than "radio on board" and this in turn is taboo for small vessels (<20m). This means that recreational boaters are de facto prohibited from using a handheld radio in the German inland area.
Anyone who does so anyway is committing an administrative offense (offence no. 22.240510). This may result in a warning fine (55 euros) or even a higher fine.
